DESCRIPTION
Create a logo for a company/service/organization and establish a visual identity across documents.
PROCESS (Programs, Tools, Skills, FOCUS principles)
1. I had a couple different ideas that I sketched out, all just including text.
2. I then went to Photoshop and created the logos.
3. I decided on the last one and made some adjustments to it so that it didn’t have such close edges.
4. I then went ahead and created the business cards, which I was pretty happy with but made some changes based on critique from Brother Stucki.
5. I went on to create the letterhead which I was mostly happy with but received some good feedback from Marci, Audrey, and Brother Stucki and followed through with it.
6. I made adjustments accordingly based on the critique I received and proceeded to work on a better watermark and ultimately came out with one I liked.
CRITIQUE PROCESS
Marci and Audrey liked the overall design but suggested I do something with the blank blue square that was near the top right – suggestion was to add my logo. I combined that with the advice I received from Brother Stucki about keeping designs consistent and making sure there is repetition in the design. I added my logo but got rid of some inconsistent elements. My wife then showed me which of the letterhead designs she thought was best, but I ultimately did not end up going with that one.

I like the clean and modern look of your design. The brand’s mantra is simplicity and you kept it nice and simple. The logo is nice and reminded me immediately of the enter key symbol giving an immediate connection to computers without seeing the words. The colors have a nice website feel to them as well. Overall well done.

Chris, I really like the color scheme that you choose, I think it contrast well. I like the logo, it works well with the company you choose. Only using the arrow for you watermark was a great idea.

Nice work on this! I like the color layout, but with the dark background, I wonder if it may benefit from a brighter colored font. Still The logo has direction, while at the same time communicating simplicity, which is something everyone is looking for, especially in business. In this case, I get the “return key” function out of this piece, is that what you intended? Because it works. That’s cool that this is your real business! Hope it all goes well for you, do you simply build websites, or do you offer hosting as well?
Best,
Rob

Thank you for your comments! As far as the return key goes, that’s not what I intended for people to think when they saw it, but I’m glad that’s what you think when you see it. I started the business by just providing hosting, but if you open up the shopping cart on the webpage, it also allows you to select general IT maintenance and site overhauls or creations.
Hi Chris,
I like your business cards and letterhead. Great color choices too. Very simple design that expresses your message of your company. I also liked how you had a different color for your header and footer. Looks really good. The Facebook logo adds a nice touch too. Makes it look realistic. Great job.
